Have you ever had a moment or a time in your life that changed the course of your life forever? When I was 17 I became very sick. Kidney stones, exhaustion, and a list a mile long of other symptoms. I spent 5 years in and out of the hospital before I received an actual diagnosis. I was 22 years old when a simple blood test changed my world. 13 emergency surgeries, 1 chest exploratory surgery, a parathyroidectomy, plus an array of pills and other treatments. There was no real prognosis at the time, it was a ’we‘ll get through these next steps and reevaluate‘.
There is nothing that will make you appreciate every moment, everything and everyone around you... except the thought of no tomorrow, no next week, next year, or even a future.
When I was given a clean bill of health in January of 2009, my health became a priority, both mental and physical. I try to spend as much time as possible outside being active. Running, hiking, and snowboarding are my favorite past times...and long backroad drives in my Jeep with my favorite copilots.
Knowing how short and fragile life is, in 2017 my husband and I found ourselves at a crossroads. We had recently become a family of 3 + 2 dogs and we weren’t satisfied with the situation of working so hard to only just get by. Working just to pay the bills. We decided to make a change. We sold our home and moved half way across the country. We made the decision to live a much more intentional life with less things and more time together actually living. We have what we value the most right here in front of us and all around us.
Every moment is important. Love is important. Connection is important and not just between people, but places and things. They make us who we are and they shape our lives at specific points along our journey. My goal is always to capture memories for my clients in places special to them and their loved ones. I want to caputure the most Intimate and real connections I can in the places most important, be that their home, atop a mountain, a spot in the woods, or even in a car. I want to capture memories that last more than a lifetime, cause who knows how long that actually is.
‘Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So, love the people who treat you right, forgive the ones who don’t, and believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it. ‘
We are surrounded both by natural beauty and beautiful people, inside and out. I use my camera to document lives. My goal is to focus on the magic I find in your daily life. My pictures tell your stories. How do you want your story to read?
